A pedestrian was threatened with a knife after agreeing to get a lift from two strangers in Eynsham, police said today.
The 16-year-old boy was walking along Cassington Road towards Mudie Bond Mercedes Garage when the occupants of an old-style silver Vauxhall Astra asked him if he wanted a lift.
After a couple of minutes, he got out of the vehicle near Wharf Farm and continued to walk home towards Cassington.
However, the car pulled up alongside the teenager again and the passenger, a woman, threatened him with a knife, while the driver, a man, stole his mobile phone, iPod and £5.50 in cash. The robbery happened on Thursday between 9.30pm and 10pm.
Both robbers were thought to be aged 19 or 20. The man was mixed race, thin, with very short black curly hair and two lines shaved on the side. He was wearing a black jumper with a gold bird symbol and grey tracksuit bottoms.
The woman was white, thin, with a round face and long brown hair tied in a ponytail. She was wearing a white T-shirt and vest.
Det Con Grahame Lea, of Witney CID, said: “The offenders had chips in the car and it is likely they stopped in Eynsham only minutes before giving the victim a lift.
“Were you working in Eynsham on Thursday evening and remember serving two people of these descriptions? If you do, please contact the police.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Det Con Lea on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
