Police are appealing for witnesses after a robbery near Cassington.

Between 9.30pm and 10pm on Thursday, a 16-year-old boy was walking along the Cassington Road, towards the Mudie Bond Mercedes-Benz garage, when an old-style silver Vauxhall Astra pulled up alongside him.

The occupants, a man and a woman aged between 19 and 20, asked him if he wanted a lift home. He agreed and was only in the car a couple of minutes when it stopped and he got out near Wharf Farm.

The boy continued to walk home towards Cassington, when the car pulled up alongside him again. The passenger, a woman, leaned over the roof and threatened him with a knife.

The driver, a man, then became aggressive and demanded that the boy hand over his belongings. He handed over his mobile phone, iPod and £5.50 in cash.

The man was of mixed race, thin, with very short black curly hair with two lines shaved on the side. He was wearing a black V-neck jumper with a gold bird symbol and grey tracksuit bottoms.

The woman was white, thin, with a round face and long brown hair tied in a ponytail. She was wearing a white T-shirt and vest.

Det Con Grahame Lea, of Witney CID, said: “The offenders had chips in the car and it is likely they stopped in Eynsham only minutes before giving the victim a lift.

"Were you working in Eynsham on Thursday evening and remember serving two people of these descriptions? If you do, please contact the police.”
