Bus operators are hoping to run near-normal services in Oxfordshire tomorrow and on Sunday, but they have warned that ice and snow blocking side roads may still lead to delays and alterations at short notice.

Information on services is available from Traveline South East or the operators' websites.

The Oxford Bus Company will assess road conditions before deciding whether to resume full services on city and county routes tomorrow.

Due to snow on estate and rural roads, routes 4, 4A, 4B, 4C, 6, 8, 9, 13 were turning back short of their normal destinations yesterday and the 35A was not operating between Abingdon and Didcot.

Stagecoach Oxfordshire is planning to run a full service but it is likely the following exceptions will apply for at least the morning until temperatures rise:

  • 11 and 242 - unable to serve North Leigh
  • 19 - unable to serve Clanfield School
  • 233 - running Witney - Burford only
  • S5 - unable to serve Arncott or Bullingdon Prison.

RH Transport is advising customers to check its website at www.rhtransportservices.co.uk or call 01993 869100 for details of which services will be running. Its country routes have been suspended due to snow for the past two days and the 600 (Thornhill) and 700 (Water Eaton) Oxford hospitals park-and-ride routes have been disrupted by snow at times.

Thames Travel is planning a normal daytime service on its routes in Oxford and the south of the county tomorrow and on Sunday, but services will finish early, at 11.40pm tomorrow and 8pm on Sunday. For more details of late-evening cancellations, see www.thames-travel.co.uk
