Traffic was hit around the county as motorists struggled to cope with the conditions.
A jack-knifed lorry on the A420 led to stationary traffic near the Botley interchange.
Other problems on the A420 included a jack-knifed lorry and fallen tree near Pusey and another jack-knifed lorry near Kingston Bagpuize.
Delays were reported on the A34 southbound caused by a broken-down lorry near Chieveley and on the northbound carriageway by a jack-knifed lorry near Beedon.
Problems were also reported on the A361 which is partially blocked both ways between Burford and Chipping Norton.
First Great Western has suspended its service between Oxford and Bicester Town due to adverse weather conditions. The company said a replacement bus service was unable to run due to the poor road conditions.
