Despite creating several good chances, Abingdon were unable to breach the South Bucks defence.
Ten minutes after the restart, Donaldson made it 2-1.
As Abingdon pressed hard for an equaliser, South Bucks broke away to score the winner through Matt Rayner.
Wallingford were knocked off the top when losing 2-0 at Marlow.
