Sir – While Corpus Christi builds a new auditorium ‘in one of Oxford's most beautiful and historic settings’ (Report, January 22), I can only mourn the loss of the jewel in its crown.
The college gardens, considered by many garden historians to be the most beautiful in Oxford, appear to have been trashed in the process and some of the loveliest corners will be lost for ever.
It seems a high price to pay.
