Sir – On a recent walk with a friend along the beautiful stretch of the River Thame from Drayton bridge to Drayton St Leonard village, we were shocked to discover not only the usual plastic debris on the bank by the bridge, but seven large propane gas cylinders in the water. This is illegal and possibly dangerous to wildlife.
Following three abortive ‘phone calls, the matter was eventually resolved, thanks to environmental officer Jenny Bates. The area was promptly cleared and the cylinders removed. What next I wonder?
