Police are appealing for witnesses after two elderly villagers' homes were burgled last night.
At about 8pm a woman at a house in Old Field, Little Milton, heard a noise and then noticed four men in her bedroom. They said that they were looking for someone before leaving through the front door.
The men took the panic alarm pendant from the lady’s neck and stole £25 from her purse.
A second house was burgled in Cullum Road, Wheatley, at about 8.30pm. A woman heard a noise and pressed her panic alarm.
The police arrived to find that someone had attempted to force open the downstairs bedroom window.
Earlier that evening the woman saw a man aged in his late twenties and wearing a baseball cap at her front door.
Supt Amanda Cooper said: “These are both distressing incidents and I urge anyone with any information to come forward.
“I would also like to remind residents, including the elderly and vulnerable, that if they see any suspicious activity, or feel unsafe then to contact the police immediately, or press their panic alarms if they have one.”
Anyone who has any information that could help the police with their enquiries is asked to contact Thame CID on 0845 8 505 505 or the Crimestoppers charity if they wish to remain anonymous on 0800 555 111.
