The sun shone for the first of Oxford City Council’s Fun in the Parks events in 1984.
Activities included dancing, live music, clowns, jugglers, a giant inflatable and face painting. Darren Timms and Lloyd Best are pictured getting into the spirit of the occasion.
And legendary Oxford swimming instructor Mollie Bateson is seen at work in 1961 – she taught thousands of schoolchildren to swim. We’re not sure where the photograph was taken, but the craft in the background may give a clue. Any suggestions?
And four-year-old Katie Fegan was caught upside down when she took part in a sponsored obstacle course at Cowley St John playgroup in 1986.
