Rail commuters are set to feel the pinch again. First Great Western says its service has improved and, as a result, it is mulling over whether to axe the season ticket holders’ 10 per cent discount. That is harsh. The discount was introduced because services were so unreliable. Commuter group Ox Rail Action is fighting to maintain some discount and we wish them well. Perhaps the more foreboding news is fares are set to rise again. What else did we expect?
