Police today appealed for help in tracing a missing teenager from the Chipping Nortonn area.

Shane Harrison, 17, of Over Norton, near Chipping Norton, went missing from his home on Tuesday.

He is white, about 5ft 6in tall, with brown hair and blue eyes. When he was last seen he was wearing jeans and carrying a distinctive bright yellow rucksack.

Sgt Mark Venn, based at Witney police station, said: “Shane left his home on Tuesday morning for school but failed to turn up.

"We are concerned for his welfare as he is very trusting and spends quite a lot of time on his own.

“He enjoys playing computer games and could be attracted to amusement arcades, model and game shops or libraries.

“I appeal to anyone who has seen a teenager matching Shane’s description or know of his whereabouts to contact police immediately.”

Anyone with information that could assist police inquiries is urged to contact Sgt Venn via Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505. If you don’t want to speak to police and don’t want to leave your name contact the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
