31 weeks This week for me has to have been the scariest!!
It all started when i went out for a meal with mum and our friend Julie. I had a lovely meal (way too much) and then went to the local and had a few lemonade and limes. However i just felt really bloated! That night i was suffering really badly with my indigestion (my own fault i thought) so up i get and i always have my gaviscon handy so gulped that down and got back in bed. Only a few hours later i still was not feeling right, i was getting pains in my stomach and felt dizzy and sick!!
Back up i got and had a glass of water and washed my face but the pains were getting really bad . Next thing i knew i was over the toilet being sick! The pains were still there and i was starting to panic! I honestly thought i was losing the baby! I was in tears! I spent the next few hours up and down out of bed and on the loo! It was a nightmare Next morning after finally getting a few hours sleep i woke up feeling ok. For the last month Squidge has woke me up about 7 every morning kicking me but this morning it hadn't!! i lied in bed and kept rubbing my belly and talking to it hoping that everything was ok and that it was just sleeping after the bad night we had. I had a cup of coffee and some biscuits and sat on the sofa. Thats when Squidge finally kicked!! thank god! Don't you scare you mother like that again i thought!
The next few days after that i still didn't feel right. Squidge wasn't moving as much as what it normally does and i was starting to get headaches and leg cramps. Also in the evening when i was having tea i would come over feeling very hot and my hands would start to swell and ache! I had been reading up in my book about all different conditions that can occur during pregnancy and some of what i was reading was scaring me and making me worry more but some of the information was quite useful.
The leg cramps apparently can be due to lack of calcium so off i popped down the shop and brought 2 cartons of milkshake and apparently hot flushes and swelling of the legs can be normal if on the go all the time.
Things were starting to get better, the sickness and dizziness had stopped at last so i think it may well have been a bug or maybe something i ate but in the back of my mind i was still worried that something was wrong I had my 31 week check up with the doctor today. I explained to the doctor all of the symptoms i had been having over the last week and he checked my blood pressure and urine and everything was fine! Phew!! he then checked Squidge's heat beat and he said that was fine too and Squidge gave the doctor a little kick as per normal lol. The doctor was slightly concerned about the headaches and swelling so i have had some blood tests done to be on the safe side. Will find out about them in a week or so! (fingers and toes crossed please!) one thing i have learnt though this week is that it is ok to have these books to read to help you get through the pregnancy but sometimes the stories and the symptoms they describe can really play on your mind and make things seem a lot worse. From now on the second i get a little concerned i think i will make a doctors appointment and not read too much in to it and worry as it makes things worse.
