A north Oxford pub landlord has described feeling “sick” after suffering a second break-in in a month.

Burglars pulled out a window and climbed inside the Canal Bridge pub in Ulfgar Road, Wolvercote, in the early hours of Monday morning.

They forced their way into the pub’s office in the cellar and helped themselves to £900, which was the weekend takings.

The pub had only just opened after vandals got in last month and ransacked a fruit machine, two juke boxes and a pool table and urinated on the carpet and set off a fire extinguisher.

Landlord Andrew Paterson said: “I feel sick, but I won’t give up. The first time they trashed the place and I feel it was trying to get us out of business.

“This time is was more random. They had the chance to vandalise the place but went straight for the money.”

The pub remained open today.

Anyone with information on the latest break-in should contact police on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
