Shop staff joined fundraisers from hundreds of businesses across Oxfordshire to ‘wear it pink’ today.

Store assistants and managers at Bonmarche, in Didcot’s Orchard Centre, raised about £75 for the Breast Cancer Care Campaign by the time the shutters went down — with more donations expected to follow.

Store manager Clare Rigg said: “We have had some lovely comments from our customers and everyone has been really generous.

“Three of us who work here have had a relative or friend who has been affected by breast cancer, so the cause has a very special place in all our hearts.

“This is the first time that we have taken part in the Wear it Pink Campaign, but we will definitely be doing it again.”

Wear it Pink was part of a month of fundraising efforts to run throughout October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with people asked to donate £2 each to the appeal.
