Householders have vowed to continue battling plans to develop a semi-detached house into four flats.
People living in Fullwell Close, Abingdon, say that if a proposal to extend the house and convert it into apartments goes ahead on appeal, lives could be put at risk because of poor access to emergency services.
They say parking is already a problem in the cul-de-sac of 11 homes and insist more cars will add to the problem.
The application has been turned down by the Vale of White Horse District Council, but the house’s owner has appealed.
Close resident Elizabeth Galbraith, 76, said: "The application is dangerous. We are all very worried about access, especially for the emergency services."
Four parking spaces would be provided behind the property, but neighbours said this was not enough.
David Thomas, 71, said: "There is already nowhere for people to park."
Agent Nick Turner, who is acting on behalf of the applicant, declined to comment.
