Traffic is now easing after six-mile tailbacks on the A34 at Milton, near Didcot, after a caravan lost a wheel.
The northbound carriageway was reduced to one lane for about an hour to allow a new wheel to be safely fitted to the vehicle.
The incident happened at about 2:35pm.
