Oxford city councillor John Tanner stated: "It's always interesting to receive advice about Oxford's rubbish from Witney and Didcot" (Oxford Mail, October 17).
The councillor then goes on to explain the many wondrous ways the city has for rubbish collection.
If he is interested in listening to the Oxford residents, many of whom I know, he would realise they would love to return to weekly collections, as in the "bad old days" (his words).
In Didcot the rubbish is collected weekly, the proper hygienic way, as in the bad old days.
If the councillor wants a cleaner Oxford, he would do well to rethink himself.
