Hairdressers took to the streets of Bicester on bright orange space hoppers in aid of a charity.

Five women started their unusual journey from Paula Steven's salon, in Langford Village, Bicester, on Sunday.

Salon manager Lindsay Rapley 25, and colleagues Karen Bailey, 43, Tammy Bellamy-Wood, 24, Amy Burge, 18, and Darcie O'Connor17, all from Bicester, bounced their way through the town and raised £2,686 for Breast Cancer Research UK.

Ms Rapley's 21-year-old brother Michael Wyatt, and friends Andy Honey, 21, Neil Gubbins, 21, and Marc Jones, 27, all had their hair dyed pink at the salon to show their support for the women's fundraising efforts.

Ms Rapley, of Bure Park, said the route had taken just over three hours to complete.

She said: "I came up with the idea. I thought it would be something light-hearted and a giggle at the same time.

"It was brilliant. It was very tiring but everyone was in good spirits.

"We had a lot of people drive past and beep their car horns at us."
