Sir — I was delighted to see your coverage of our bid to protect Oxpens Meadow by declaring it a town green.
Our bid has been delivered to Oxfordshire County Council who will consider it in the coming weeks.
We are passionate about protecting this space so residents can continue to enjoy the circus, support bike rides in aid of cancer charities and celebrate youth events such as the arts Blast — all of which have been hosted on the meadow in the last few months.
Oxpens is the last significant green space in the West End of the city and many local residents have enjoyed the space for well over 20 years.
