Tadmarton Heath Golf Club nestles in the rolling north Oxfordshire countryside, three miles to the west of Banbury on the B4035. The course was opened in 1922 and is currently listed in the top 175 courses in the 2008 Peugeot Golf Guide.

Tadmarton is a traditional heathland course with tight fairways, many of which are bordered by gorse, making it a great test of golf.

Once your round is over you will be made welcome in the clubhouse where you can relax in the bar and enjoy high-quality home-cooked food for which the club has become renowned.

There are many advantages to being a member of Tadmarton Heath Golf Club.

Due to its location and the superb draining soil the course is very rarely closed during the winter months and we hardly ever have to use temporary greens and tees.

Membership is kept to such a level that there is always good access to the course. There is no need to book a tee-off time.

Members may sign in three guests at one time at the members’ reduced green fee rate, in accordance with the rules and fixture list.

There is a full programme of club competitions throughout the year.

The club has been awarded the coverted GolfMark award — a national scheme that identifies and recognises junior and beginner-friendly golf facilities In March the club welcomed its new professional, John Stubbs, to the club. John and his assistant Mark Boscott spent the first couple of months talking to the membership to make sure that the shop is fully stocked with all the new technology and a superb range of clothing.

In anticipation of the hot summers that we used to enjoy we have recently installed a new computerised irrigation system ensuring that the course is always in perfect condition.

Tadmarton Heath is very proud of its history and many well known golfers have graced our fairways.

Donald Steel, the famous golf course architect and writer, wrote of the course: “As a course it has what may conveniently be described as a split personality, the first nine holes being fairly open and the second nine possessing a characteristic commonly associated with heathland golf — a profusion of gorse which makes some of the fairways alarmingly narrow!

“There are many splendidly demanding second shots — particularly those at the first, second, fourth, sixth, and ninth — which can only be negotiated successfully from drives that have been strategically placed.”

If you are looking for a golf club that really cares about its members, restricts the number of visiting societies so as not to overload the course, and offers a superb test of golf throughout the year, you should apply for membership of Tadmarton Heath Golf Club
