House prices in Oxfordshire are falling at an annual rate of 3.8 per cent, according to figures released by the Land Registry today.
The average price of houses sold in the county in September was £241,444, compared to £250,363 in September 2007.
The statistics also showed a 0.6 per cent drop on the August figure of £242,823.
But the present downward trend in Oxfordshire still compares well with the UK as a whole.
The average price of a house in England and Wales plummeted 2.2 per cent in September to £168,814 — hitting a record annual drop of eight per cent.
