If the young pianist looks familiar, you'd be right.
It was the multi-talented Dudley Moore, comedian, actor, writer, musician, composer and arranger.
The picture, taken in 1957, was found in the depths of the Oxford Mail archives by our ever-resourceful librarian, Chris McDowell.
Dudley was a member of the Oxford University Music Club at the time.
A trio of club members — the others are Bridget Brown and Bruce Jameson — provided incidental music at a garden party organised by the Oxford branch of the Royal Empire Society at Queen Elizabeth House in St Giles, Oxford.
It was held on Empire Day, May 24.
