Fire crews from Bicester dealt with a car on fire on the hard shoulder of the M40 between junction 10 for Ardley and junction 11 for Banbury early yesterday afternoon.
Two lanes were closed causing traffic delays.
Earlier, shortly before midday, fire crews from Banbury were called to deal with a three-vehicle collision on the same section of the M40 in the opposite direction.
