The Rev Toddy Hoare recently had published (Oxford Mail, October 18) a polite request to the county council 'traffic elite' for his local regular worshipers and/or churchgoers to be allowed to park on nearby city streets for a little longer than the two hours already permitted without fear of being ticketed, while they attended his church services, provided that they displayed a 'church permit' declaring where they were.
Divine intervention and shorter church services are in short supply, it seems.
If ever taken seriously by the county council, may I suggest calling the scheme 'Pray and Display'?
Mr Hoare — your letter brightened up my week no end, God bless you!
