Electricity has been restored to almost 7,000 homes in South Oxfordshire hit by a power cut earlier today.
Homes and businesses in the Sutton Courtenay, Didcot and Milton areas plus surrounding villages lost their electricity when workmen pulled down a high-voltage cable at a building site near Milton at about 10am.
A businessman, who asked not to be named, said many workers at Milton Park had been sent home early because of the power cut.
A spokesman for Southern Electric said power was fully restored just after 3pm.
