Two masked men armed with a knife stole an "undisclosed" amount of cash during a raid at McDonald's in Witney last night.

At around 11.15pm, two men entered the fast food restaurant in Ducklington Lane and threatened staff with a knife.

The offenders ordered the five staff members to open the safe and stole cash.

Police described the men as white, 5ft 7ins tall and of medium build.

They were wearing dark coloured hooded tops and balaclavas and both carried rucksacks Det Sgt Richard White, who is investigating the incident, said: "Thankfully, nobody was injured during the incident.

"One witness said he saw a dark coloured vehicle, possibly a Rover, making off towards Burwell Drive.

"The man left before police spoke to him and I would urge him to come forward.

"The area was quite busy at 11.15pm, and the Esso garage was still open.

"I would urge anyone who was in the area, who saw anything suspicious, to come forward."

Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 0845 8 505 505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
