Police are tonight quizzing a teenager over the stabbing of a man in Oxford.

Officers have arrested the 18-year-old on suspicion of attempted murder after a 20-year-old man was seriously wounded outside the Bowlplex near Kassam Stadium in Greater Leys last night.

A police spokesman said the victim had been stabbed with what is currently only being called 'a sharp instrument'.

He has been undergoing emergency surgery today and tonight his condition was being described as stable.

The spokesman said there was a dispute between two men at the Bowlplex, which is part of the Ozone Leisure Complex next to the Kassam Stadium, at 11.30pm yesterday that then continued outside.

Anyone with information is urged to call police on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
