A former Oxfordshire hair therapist was today jailed for three years for a series of attacks on women at his clinic.

Praminder Mankoo, who treated up to 3,000 clients at Hairology, in Thame, was imprisoned and banned from giving massages to members of the public.

He was also told that on his release from jail he would no longer be permitted to carry out treatment unless a third party was present.

Mankoo, a 47-year-old father of four, was convicted last month of one charge of indecent assault and three charges of sexual assault.

He was told that he was "in a state of denial" and "deceiving himself" by Judge Mary Jane Mowat.

Four women, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were assaulted at Hairology between 2003 and last year.

Mankoo offered them massages to help relieve problems with their hair and asked three of them to remove clothes.

He would then massage them on the head and shoulders before touching their breasts.

During his trial at Oxford Crown Court, Mankoo, of The Nap, Oakley, admitted having sexual encounters with two clients. He was cautioned in respect of indecent assault on the first woman and acquitted of charges relating to the second at the end of the trial.

He was sentenced to three years imprisonment, to run concurrently, on each charge, and must go on a sex offenders' programme on his release.
