The Kassam Stadium — the home of Oxford United — is without power after a fire earlier today.

Crews from The Slade and Rewley Road were called at about 10.15am, after the football club reported a problem with a fuse board.

The club's offices and ticket office are closed as staff are unable to take telephone calls or sell tickets.

United are due to play Burton Albion at home tomorrow.

An Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said two crews attended because of the size of the building.

But she said the problem was a matter for an electrician.

She added: "The club thought there was a problem with the fuse board supplying electricity to the kitchen and we attended as a precaution."
