Oxfam has launched a £15m fundraising appeal to combat the effects of rising world food prices.
The Cowley-based charity said the increased cost had pushed an extra 119 million people into hunger, taking the global total to almost a billion.
The initiative coincides with the launch of Oxfam's latest report, Double-Edged Prices, which said rising food prices had made the poor even poorer while international business profits soar.
