School pupils enjoyed a kickabout and learned about healthy living courtesy of Oxford United.
Club football coaches visited St Nicolas Primary School, in Boxhill Walk, Abingdon, yesterday, to promote a healthy lifestyle.
More than 70 children turned up to a weekly after-school club, which has been running for a year-and-a-half. They were given fruit and asked the experts about exercise and eating healthily.
Peter Rhoades-Brown, united football community officer, pictured, said: "We don't just play football, we promote exercise and everything that goes with being healthy.
"As footballers are role models, we go into schools to encourage children to eat their greens and do exercise, which is fantastic. The schools love it as well."
Headteacher Dick Furniss said: "The development of sport and activities is one part of being a healthy school and I am keen to involve other clubs in this.
"It is about making pupils mentally and physically well."
Oxford United holds after-school clubs at 30 schools in Oxfordshire.
