The former Lord Lieutenant of Oxfordshire Sir Hugo Brunner was yesterday knighted by the Queen at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace, after being named a Knight of the Royal Victorian Order.
The order honours those who have personally served the Royal Family.
Sir Hugo was Lord Lieutenant for 12 years before retiring last month.
Tim Stevenson OBE, an ex-chief executive of Castrol, has taken over.
