Police tonight renewed an appeal for witnesses to a collision which has left a man in hospital with serious injuries.

The incident happened at about 5.20pm on October 5.

A silver Rover 25 lost control and left the A34 northbound carriageway at East Ilsley and ended up in a field approximately 30 metres from the road.

The two occupants were taken by Air Ambulance to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.

The driver, a 23-year-old man from Birmingham, suffered serious injuries and is in a critical condition.

The passenger, a 23-year-old woman, also from Birmingham, has been treated for a broken arm.

PC Justin Aylin-White said: “Our investigations are still on-going and we are following several enquiries. We urge anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward.”
