Six months ago, I rang Oxford City Council pest control about a plague of squirrels at Windale House.

I was told if I was not willing to pay for the service, to contact my housing officer, which I did. She wrote to the council about it.

After two visits from the pest man, I got only excuses. Oxford East MP Andrew Smith and the housing officer then asked what the council was going to do.

We had as many as five squirrels in the garden at one time and they chewed through a telephone cable. It is obvious nothing is going to be done.

I wonder why we have a pest controller.

Squirrels are vermin.
