The driver of a car which was involved in a hit-and-run attempted murder in Blackbird Leys has still not been traced.

Police have today renewed their appeal for information after the incident last Thursday.

The victim, who is in his 20s but has not been named, was hit by a car in Cuddesdon Way shortly before 6pm following an altercation between two men outside the shops in Blackbird Leys Road.

Det Insp Simon Morton said: “We believe it is the same men involved in both incidents.

"A green car collided with a man, aged in his twenties, and then left the scene. The driver of this vehicle is still outstanding and we appeal to anyone who knows of his whereabouts to get in touch.

“I urge anyone who was in this area of Blackbird Leys on Thursday evening and witnessed any of the incidents take place to contact police immediately.

“We are continuing high-visibility patrols in the area and we would like to reassure residents that we are doing everything we can to identify the person responsible."

The injured man remains in a serious but stable condition in the John Radcliffe Hospital in Headington.

A 36-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. They have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Det Insp Morton on 0845 8 505 505 or call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
