Hartwell Land Rover, at Cumnor, has created a special launch edition of the 2009 Range Rover Sport to highlight the interior and exterior enhancements that have been introduced for the new model year.

Unlike some special editions, this launch edition — known as the Black & White — is not being produced in limited in numbers, indeed any potential owner with £50,490 can buy one.

Dealer principal Robin Davis said: "To showcase the new features that are now available on all Range Rover Sport models, we have commissioned a vehicle which combines the most visually distinctive changes that have been introduced and demonstrates just how contemporary the Range Rover Sport can look inside and out. As the name suggests, the Black & White makes a real visual statement with its Alaska White paintwork and darkened privacy glass. It sits on 20-inch Shadow chrome alloy wheels and inside there are premium ebony leather seats and door inserts which have been specified with contrasting ivory stitching.

"The Black & White also incorporates less immediately obvious updates including: Satellite Navigation (now standard across the range), a rear end refresh with re-coloured lamp lenses, a body coloured appliqué to the tailgate and a Brunel (silver finish) tread plate located on the upper surface of the rear bumper."

"There are now also clear side repeater lenses, a new 20-inch, 15-spoke alloy wheel design for HST models which has a Sparkle Silver painted finish and the Shadow chrome finish (as featured on the Black & White) is now available on the existing 20-inch ten-spoke wheel.

The exterior colour palette available to customers has been extended with the introduction of Bournville (Metallic black with a brown tint) whilst Santorini Black replaces Java Black and Galway Green replaces Tonga Green. Interior changes see the Alpaca trim colour replaced by Almond & Nutmeg, whilst Noble plated air vent bezels and door pull handles further enhance the interior on all models. A full Nobel plated centre consol is also available in lieu of the wood veneer option for drivers specifying leather door inserts.

The 2009 Range Rover Sport model range is priced from £38,495 on the road for the TDV6 S, from £50,490 for a TDV6 HSE and from £56,090 for a TDV8 HSE (equipped as per the Black & White). The top-of-the-range Supercharged V8 HST is priced from £63,895.
