Oxford City Council is to investigate the possibility of harvesting rainwater falling on the city's rooftops in a bid to ease the threat of floods.
A motion brought by St Mary's ward Green councillor Matt Morton was discussed at the full council meeting on Monday and was supported by a majority of councillors.
The idea is to calculate the roof area in a particular part of the city, calculate the per annum rainfall in the area, and investigate how the water could be stored.
