The robbery occurred at Co-op Travel in Chapel Way shortly before 10.20am.
Police this afternoon have released more details.
The two men, who claimed to have a gun, ordered four female members of staff to open the safe and stole cash and travellers' cheques.
It is not known how much money was stolen.
One robber was described as mixed race, about 6ft tall, with dark eyes and dark eyebrows.
He was wearing white and black trainers, a grey zipped sports jacket and carrying a black drawstring bag.

“One of the men picked up a woman’s cerise coloured bag and put the stolen cash inside.
"I appeal to anyone who saw two men of these descriptions, either before or after the incident, to contact police immediately."
