Search teams and a police helicopter worked throughout Saturday night and yesterdaymorning trying to trace the man, believed to be in his 40s.
The teams concentrated their search in woodland near the Thornhill park and ride car park.
The search was finally called off when the man turned up safe and well in Chieveley, west Berkshire, at about noon yesterday.
