Dozens of Oxford schoolchildren celebrated the Muslim festival Eid, which marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.
It was the first time St Nicholas' Primary School, in Marston, had marked the event with a big celebration, which was held on Thursday.
Headteacher Rachel Crouch said: "It was wonderful. We are a multicultural school and we celebrate all religious festivals from different groups, we've got Harvest Festival coming up and Diwali too."
At St Nicholas, 13 per cent of the pupils, 48 children, are Muslims, and they put on an assembly and presentation to the whole school about what Eid al-Fitr meant.
Parents helped organise the event, and all the families involved made traditional sweets for the youngsters to share.
Mrs Crouch added: "We’re a very culturally diverse school, with 21 different languages spoken and lots of different religions. It’s really important to celebrate children's beliefs and cultures."
