Weather watchers are wanted to help understand the impact of extreme weather conditions.
The Vale of White Horse District Council wants amateur meteorologists to help it with a climate profiling project to understand severe weather events, so it can be better prepared when they strike. Councillors will be looking at the last five years' weather patterns and how the council responded to them, in order to prepare for the future.
Met Office data will be used, but the council also needs any local records or anecdotal information from residents of the Vale, to help them.
Mark Saunders, from the council's energy team, said: "Tackling the impact of climate change is one of the Vale's key priorities."
