The cancellation of the 2008 Royal Oxfordshire Horticultural Society show, because of the waterlogged Florence Park at Cowley, was a bitter disappointment to many exhibitors as well as the public.
But the show has enjoyed great success in the past, as these pictures prove.
George Armstrong, of Botley Road, Oxford, was particularly proud of his chrysanthemums which he entered in 1967.
And a year earlier, a grower, whose name we don't know was hoping to persuade the judge that his onions were best in the show.
