People in Wallingford, Thame and Henley are being given the chance to have their say about the future of their communities.
South Oxfordshire District Council wants local residents to help it shape the future of the market towns over the next three years and is organising three events featuring workshops where people can discuss ideas.
The overall aim is to agree a vision for each town's future, identify things needing to be done to achieve the ends, and detail who should be doing the work.
The scheme will be launched at the Northmoor Trust's Hill Farm HQ in Little Wittenham between 9am and 1pm on Tuesday, October 14, with a speaker from the Northumberland Strategic Partnership, which has already carried out a successful similar project. The talk will be followed by the workshops, which will be held at Lord Williams's School in Thame on Monday, November 3, Wallingford School on Monday, November 10, and Henley Rugby Club on Monday, November 17. The workshops will run between 4.45pm and 8pm. Rodney Mann, cabinet member for economic development, said: "Wallingford, Henley and Thame all face challenges, as do market towns across the country.
"By involving local people in developing a vision for the future, we aim to lead the way on reversing the economic decline in our town centres."
