Two people were taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford after an accident on the M40 this morning.
Motorists experienced severe delays following a multi-vehicle accident between junction nine, at Wendlebury, and junction eight, near Wheatley, shortly before 7am.
Rush-hour commuters were affected by a broken-down lorry shortly before the accident on the same carriageway near junction eight.
A spokesman for the South Central Ambulance service said two people had to be taken to hospital, but were unable to provide any further information.
The crash was cleared by 9.15am.
