Children at the Elms Road nursery school at Botley, Oxford, brought produce galore to their harvest festival in 1965.
At Blackbird Leys, Oxford, in 1982, a giant pumpkin was among the hundreds of harvest gifts at the Church of the Holy Family.
Dalroy John and Sarah Paxford, both seven, are seen with the monster.
Both had taken home-grown vegetables to the harvest service — Sarah took tomatoes which she had grown in her little patch beside her dad's vegetable garden.
The food was later given to the area's elderly people.
