A reward for the safe return of a stolen address book and diary belonging to Oxford's Lord Mayor has doubled.
Susanna Pressel's orange handbag was stolen from the Lord Mayor's Parlour, at Oxford Town Hall, in St Aldate's, on Tuesday.
Police checked CCTV recordings and arrested a 39-year-old man on suspicion of burglary today.
Ms Pressel has now raised £100 for the return of her contacts book to £200. She said: "I was absolutely thrilled to hear police arrested a suspect.
"He was clearly visible on our CCTV cameras and police officers recognised him and knew where he lived. They visited his flat, but he wasn't at home. Fortunately, he was spotted on city centre cameras and they caught him.
"I'm very impressed with the way police have handled this and am very grateful."
However, her bag and its contents are still missing.
She added: "A friend who knew how badly this loss will affect my work has kindly agreed to double the reward. So we're offering £200 to anyone who finds my diary and address book."
Anyone who finds the handbag should call Oxford police on 08458 505505.
