Workers at the three Oxfordshire outlets of soft furnishings retailer Rosebys are facing an uncertain future after it was taken into administration.
The company, which has a store in Oxford's Westgate Centre and a further two in Banbury, has become insolvent after racking up £6m losses in its last financial year.
Now administrators at finance firm KPMG have said they are looking to sell the business as a going concern or break it up if necessary.
Joint administrator Howard Smith said: "The business is continuing to trade as normal while we review the financial position and seek a going concern sale. No employees have been made redundant to date.
"In common with many retailers, the group has experienced difficult trading conditions, leading to continuing losses."
Rosebys, which specialises in furnishings, curtains and bedding, employs about 18 people at its Oxfordshire stores.
The company has an annual turnover of £100m and employs about 2,000 staff at its 280 outlets.
KPMG said Rosebys has recently sought to re-finance, but this did not prove possible in the current economic climate.
