Detectives today renewed an appeal for witnesses after a woman said that a man had tried to kidnap her in Oxford.
At about 11.15am on Wednesday, a 25-year-old woman was walking along Marsh Road towards Crescent Road when a silver 4x4 car, possibly a Mercedes, pulled up next to her.
Det Con Simon Hannam said: “A man, the passenger in the car, got out and grabbed hold of the woman, trying to get her to come with them.”
The only details of the man involved in the incident which have been released by police are that he was black and aged 25 to 35.
Det Con Hannam added: “This happened at a time of day when there were plenty of people around. I hope that someone may have some information to help us with our inquiries.”
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Det Con Hannam at Oxford police station via 0845 8 505 505, or if you don’t want to talk to the police or give your name, call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
