Det Tracey Nicolson, who is investigating the incident, said: “This woman has lost a large amount of money to a man who works as a financial advisor.

“Mr Fretten offers financial and mortgage advice to customers in the Oxford area and I am keen for him to come forward and to speak to anyone who might know him or have done business with him.

“I am appealing to anyone who may have had contact with this man, or know who he is to contact the police.”
