Discount store operator Lidl has launched a second attempt at getting a share of the expanding Witney shopping scene.
The company held an open day at the town's Langdale Hall to show its revised plans, and canvass support, for a store next to the drive-in McDonald's at Ducklington Lane.
Development executive Richard Taylor said they would be looking at public comments and expected to put in a formal planning application next week.
Its first scheme was rejected by West Oxfordshire District Council in July on design and highways grounds.
Mr Taylor added: "We see Witney as having limited food retail choice. The proposed site will be ideally situated to serve the needs of residents, bringing jobs and investment."
Revised designs include the use of natural Oxfordshire stone and a slate roof, as well as drystone walling along a footpath boundary, and tree and shrub landscaping.
Lidl has also contracted highways consultants to deal with issues about increased traffic near one of the town's major hot spots, the Ducklington Lane and Station Lane junction.
Mr Taylor said: "The road is very busy at the peak 4pm to 5pm on Fridays, but not at breaking point."
The German firm, which now has over 450 stores throughout Europe, has targeted Witney because of its population growth and the fact that its nearest store is in Watlington Road, Oxford.
